UC Davis study eliminates a possible culprit in heart arrhythmia
(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) — A protein thought to play a role in heart-rhythm irregularities actually has no significant effect on heart function, according to new research from UC Davis Health System. The outcome puts to rest an ongoing controversy about the effects of the protein in cardiac arrhythmia — abnormally timed heart beats that can indicate heart disease and, in some instances, lead to cardiac arrest.
