Omega XL is a product of the Great Healthworks company. The company was founded by CEO Ken Meares and COO Miles Dupree in 2002. Both Ken and Miles were so concerned with their consumers’ wellbeing that they introduced Omega XL in 2003. It is a supplement that has tremendously improved people’s lives with joint issues.

This is an Omega-3 supplement that has been formulated to reduce and ultimately get rid of inflammation, joint pain, and muscle aches/soreness that often stem from aging and working out.

It consists of a mixture of Omega-3 fatty acids and some more natural ingredients that have been proven scientifically to help alleviate joint pains. The Omega-3 fatty acids have also been proven to help brain development and heart health. The company attests that this Omega-3 supplement is scientifically backed and has undergone 35 years of extensive clinical research.

Omega XL is a brand of supplement formulated to relieve inflammation and joint pain. Omega XL supplements claim to contain a blend of omega-3 fatty acids that supply nutrients to enhance heart health and reduce the risk of developing different kinds of cancers like arthritis.

This Omega XL is one of the most powerful joint health supplements. It contains a set of 30 healthy fatty acids[1], including Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), that aid in its main function of alleviating joint pain. It also claims to contain up to 22 times more omega three fatty acids than what is actually in regular fish oil.

Pema canaliculus or Green-lipped mussels are the world’s largest type of mussel derived from New Zealand. It is part of the Omega XL Proprietary Blend, or the PCSO-524 oil extract containing omega fatty acids, extra virgin olive oil, and d-alpha-tocopherol (Vitamin E).

Green-lipped mussels contain Pema canaliculus Oil Extract, Olive oil, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and lyprinol that, according to animal research[4], have joint-protective and anti-inflammatory properties[5]. When taken with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or paracetamol, green-lipped mussels have been shown to offer pain relief for people with osteoarthritis-related joint pain. Contrary to popular reports, mussels are not used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Though it’s not clear how it works, green-lipped mussels extracts are known to contain carbohydrates, minerals, amino acids, and omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are known for their anti-inflammatory effects[6].
