President Stanley Urges Long Islanders to Get Flu Vaccination

undefined SBU President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., MD, is pictured getting his flu vaccination. In a new public service announcement, Dr. Stanley is shown getting his seasonal flu vaccine and urges Long Island residents to get vaccinated to protect themselves against the flu, and points them to a website resource that identifies where flu shots are available.

“I know how dangerous the influenza virus can be. It only takes a couple of minutes to protect yourself and those around you,” said Dr. Stanley, who also serves as the Chair of the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity (NSABB), a group of experts who advise the heads of the Departments of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health and of all Federal departments that conduct or support life sciences research.
