About The Brand
Universal Nutrition, a firm specializing in weight reduction and bodybuilding dietary supplements, is the manufacturer of Animal Cuts. The brand has been in business for more than 40 years and has items sold in more than 90 countries.
The company’s philosophy is Integrity, Honesty, and Respect. Besides Animal Cuts, Universal Nutrition manufactures weight reduction, fat burner, and muscle growth supplements.
We reviewed Universal Nutrition’s BBB page and discovered the following. Their rating is A+; however, their page is not verified. On the page, there’s only a single customer complaint resolved, which is far below what was expected — given that most brands receive at least seven to ten complaints. Furthermore, Universal Nutrition also lacks any client reviews, which we find questionable.
Something that also caught our attention was a lawsuit[1] against the company for making the wrong claims. In another lawsuit, an athlete sued[2] the brand because they claimed their product contained trace amounts of steroids.
What Are Animal Cuts?
Animal Cuts is a fat burner created by Universal Nutrition. This thermogenic supplement contains additional nootropic benefits as well as helping users lose weight, boost their metabolic rates, and suppress appetite.
According to the manufacturer, the dietary supplement is a great weight-cutting supplement for regular individuals and bodybuilders. While there is no denying that the marketing targets muscle heads, it can still be used by people who are not as toned or jacked. Furthermore, it can be used by both males and females and will aid in reducing fat while enabling the user to keep optimal muscle definition.
The main problem most individuals looking to build muscles encounter is the inability to burn enough fat. This problem often leads many people to build muscle, but given that not enough fat is lost, noticeable effects are lost, as is sculpting. This is what Animal Cuts seeks to address.

Does It Really Work?
Animal Cuts is intended to assist you in losing weight swiftly. As a result, it contains several chemicals intended to boost metabolism and accelerate body fat loss. According to consumer feedback, the product causes excessive sweating. Sweating reduces water weight, which may become excessive with these supplements, and hydration is important.
Animal Cuts states that its formulation is superior to competitors since scientific studies support it. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any references to this purported research. We presume that because a few of the supplement’s ingredients have been evaluated for weight loss capabilities, they are using those studies to prove the product works.
There is no arguing that most Universal Animal Cuts review statements from users are positive. It seems that there are individuals that have seen results when using the product. Still, some have indicated that they did not see any changes and expressed concern after experiencing mild side effects — more on this later.
Animal Cuts Ingredients
One way that Animal Cut stands out from most other fat-burning supplements is its extensive list of ingredients. The main ingredients are divided into eight different blends with a specific purpose.
These eight complex formulations are 750 milligrams of Stimulant Complex, 750 mg Metabolic Complex, 350 mg Thyroid Complex, 780 mg Water Shedding Complex, 500 mg Nootropic Complex, 300 mg Cortisol Inhibiting Complex, 300 mg CCK Boosting Complex, and 500 mg Bioavailability Complex. CCK refers to the hormone cholecystokinin[3] responsible for improving digestion and promoting bile secretion, nutrient absorption, and induction of satiety.
Besides the complexes outlined above, the product contains additional ingredients to support the formulation’s claims. For a full list of ingredients, please check the manufacturer’s website and product package as well as the label in this article.
The proprietary blends are formulated to help the user burn fat and build muscle by addressing different factors. By doing this, the product formulation can tackle various fat-burning aspects for individuals looking to lose unsightly fat and thus possibly improve the chances of users getting noticeable results.
There is an indication of the amount of chemicals and herbs in Animal Cuts. However, it’s concerning that the exact quantity of each ingredient is not stated. This makes it challenging to discern how effective each ingredient is depending on the dosage in a single pack. Either capsules or powder may be chosen for this product.
The product is not vegan-friendly because they use gelatin for their capsules. Moreover, people with allergies should be advised of cross-contamination since the supplement is made in facilities processing milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and wheat. Furthermore, those with soy allergies should avoid the product altogether as it contains soy.
Additionally, one can identify scientifically proven ingredients that can help with weight loss, improving focus, and burning fat by the list of ingredients on the label; it is the amount of the ingredient that is in question as a certain threshold has to be reached to be effective and supported by literature in that dose.
Let’s take a deep dive into the ingredients in the product’s formulation:
Stimulant Complex (750 mg)
This complex contains Caffeine Anhydrous, a stimulant[4] known to increase thermogenesis, focus, and energy levels. Another is Yerba Mate[5] leaf extract which is rich in antioxidants and can aid in lowering blood sugar levels.
Other ingredients include raspberry ketones[6] — which can aid in improving the fat-burning rate; guarana[7] — another stimulant that reduces fatigue and enhances energy; and kola nut,[8] which can boost metabolism and digestion. Evodiamine contains[9] anti-inflammatory and anti-obesity properties, and Coleus forskohlii can improve testosterone levels and support weight loss.[10]
One thing we noted is that the product has a high stimulant content, and as such, people with caffeine sensitivity should be cautious when using this product or consult their physicians. Also, avoid taking it late in the day when it might interfere with sleep, and be cautious if you have anxiety.
Metabolic Complex (750 mg)
The complex includes ingredients such as Oolong tea extract — which can improve[11] metabolism and reduce obesity risk, and green tea leaf extract — an ingredient in several of the best fat burners, which has been shown[12] to aid in exercise recovery and weight loss.
Coffee bean extract can aid[13] in regulating cholesterol and blood sugar, while white and black tea extract contains[14] antioxidants and help regulate insulin.
Thyroid Complex
The active ingredients in this blend include olive leaf extract, which can reduce[15] the risk of type II diabetes and blood pressure and improve immunity.
It also contains L-tyrosine — which helps[16] produce thyroid hormones and proteins in the body, and Salvia officinalis — known[17] to improve attention and alertness.
Water Shedding Complex
The water-shedding proprietary blend includes uva ursi leaf[18] — which fights inflammation and flushes out bacteria by promoting urination; dandelion root[19] — to minimize water retention; hydrangea root — which fights[20] against urinary tract problems; and juniper berry — which is a mild diuretic that promotes water loss without loss of electrolytes.
Additional ingredients are Buchu leaf which helps[21] disinfect kidney and urinary tract organs while promoting diuresis, and celery seed — a powerful antioxidant[22] that promotes urination and supports bone health. However, if you suffer from any sort of kidney disease, you should consult a physician before consuming celery seeds.
These ingredients work together to help you lose water weight, consequently making your muscle mass more defined.
Nootropic Complex
A nootropic complex is included to help increase exercise focus and attention to task while enhancing motivation to be consistent with a routine. Some ingredients fight inflammation which may prolong your routine since you aren’t in inflammatory pain.
Ingredients include huperzine — which protects[23] the brain cells and enhances memory, and cocoa powder — for protection[24] from diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and to fight inflammation. Another ingredient in the complex blend is DMAE[25]—Dimethylethanolamine, which supports good mood and promotes athletic performance. The last one is Bacopa monniera—Water hyssop, which is known[26] for reducing stress and anxiety and improving brain function.
Cortisol Inhibiting Complex
This blend includes Magnolia bark extract — to fight[27] inflammation and enhance digestion and Eleutherococcus senticosus — to improve[28] athletic performance and reduce fatigue.
Ashwagandha root extract helps[29] lower blood pressure and enhance immune function, and phosphatidylserine improves[30] concentration and mood.
CCK Boosting Complex
This includes apple pectin — which helps treat[31] gastrointestinal issues and boost digestion; cinnamon — a powerful antioxidant[32] that may help improve digestion by supporting good bacterial growth; and Cha-de-Bugre — to aid[33] with cellulite, and fluid retention, and appetite suppression.
Bioavailability Complex
Ingredients for this blend are ginger root — to help[34] with indigestion and nausea, Piper nigrum extract — which contains[35] anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic properties, grapefruit[36] — to control appetite and immune system enhancement.
Naringin[37] helps to lower visceral obesity and aids in balancing blood sugar levels, and quercetin helps to reduce[38] blood pressure and prevent infections.

Health Benefits Of Animal Cuts
Suppressing Appetite
During the initial three weeks of using Animal Cuts, its components may help reduce the impact of food cravings. This is where many individuals fall short since the occasional candy bar or doughnut may destroy all your work and effort from the gym workouts.
Water Shedding
Animal cuts could also result in less water retention in the muscles. This might drastically lower the number shown on the scales. However, eliminating excess water weight is not an effective way to lose weight, although it may help you achieve the sculpted look.
Enhances Thermogenesis
The key ingredients in Universal Nutrition Animal Cuts operate by inducing a process known as thermogenesis — your body elevates its internal temperature by melting off some extra fat. Long-term consumers of this product noted that when paired with a balanced calorie deficit diet significant weight loss occurred.
Potential Side Effects
One thing to remember is that consuming all eight Animal Cuts pills at once may induce bloating or cramps in those with sensitive tummies and a serious case of anxiety because of the caffeine. We didn’t notice many complaints, primarily because you could omit the red capsule (the stimulant capsule) and forgo the caffeinated effect of this blend.
Still, we recommend that you consult your doctor before using this supplement. This is especially the case for individuals under 18 years, people under medication, individuals with medical conditions, and those with caffeine sensitivity. Women who are trying to become pregnant or who are pregnant or new to breastfeeding should also avoid this product. Keep in mind that the diuretic properties of this pill will more than likely dry your milk supply up even if a seasoned breastfeeding mom.
How To Take Animal Cuts
The manufacturer recommends taking two servings, or packs, per day — one serving after you wake up and another around four to six hours later. In the case of capsules, each serving pack contains nine pills for 18 daily.
You will be required to take this dosage for three weeks and rest for one week before restarting the supplement.
Animal Cuts Review: What Do Real Users Say?
There are many Universal Animal Cuts reviews left by users on their official website and other online vendor sites. Most of these reviews are favorable. Here are examples of reviews from users of the product:
Animal Cuts has been outstanding ! I’ve been taking Cuts as part of my deficit while trying for strongman. The packets are handy to throw in my lunch bucket. The pills in the pack are made of some impressive ingredient that actually work ! The results I’ve gotten from Cuts are stellar ! The thermal effect while targeting areas of the body is insanRead more about Animal Cuts has been outstanding !e and the energy is ample to drive through a fast tempo heavy weight trading regimen. This is my go to when I need to trim after a bulking period.
Andrew J.
Although not many, some users also had negative reviews about the product. One example is shown below:
I’m actually a fan of Animal’s Paks and have used them for years. These Cuts, however, … I will say I experienced some increased energy and nootropic effects for the first week of taking them (2x daily), but that disappeared after the first few initial days. I took them for three weeks before I threw the rest out. Even with plenty of water, there was some constipation which went away within a day of ending use. I also experience some strange mild swelling of my abdomen, which also disappeared within 24-36 hours of no longer using Cuts. Make of that what you will.

Final Thought
Animal Cuts generally has positive reviews from users. Still, we believe they could have added more ingredients to their metabolism complex to support weight loss.
If there is a major red flag with the product, it is certainly the fact that the quantity of each ingredient is not disclosed. This raises a few concerns, especially because you cannot tell how much each component is in the proprietary complexes. Use the product with caution and consult a registered dietitian.
