Eating well for diabetes – What's new?

Dr Nicola Burch, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Clinical Nutrition Lead and Karen Jones, Community Diabetes Dietitian from UHCW will be presenting at a free event about the latest developments in the Nutrition Support Service at the Trust and the latest on the dietary management of diabetes.

Dr Burch said: “Raising awareness about healthy eating, particularly in diabetes, is a vital part of helping to improve overall health and may prevent or limit the risk of complications in diabetes. We hope to provide a practical and interactive session to help improve understanding of the importance of diet and lifestyle in the management of diabetes. In addition, there have been significant developments in the Nutrition Service at UHCW over the past two years and I hope this presentation will give us the opportunity to share some of these developments to a wider audience.”

This event will take place between 5pm and 6pm on Thursday 12th December 2013 in the Clinical Sciences Building, University Hospital, Clifford Bridge Road, Coventry. We are also very pleased that ISS Facility Services will be providing samples of food currently served to patients.
