RCGP urges patients not to panic on statins

“New research regarding the advantages and disadvantages of statins is consistently being published and it is important that we take this on board as we engage with all relevant parties, including NICE, to move forward and produce guidelines for healthcare professionals in the best interests of our patients.

“If any patient is concerned about the medication that they have been prescribed then please make an appointment with your GP. However, this is not an emergency and can be done as part of a routine GP appointment.”
