Volunteers to assemble ‘after care kits’ for survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault

The event will be held Tuesday, March 24, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Commonwealth Ballroom in University Student Commons.

It is sponsored by Fear 2 Freedom, a nonprofit organization dedicated to redeeming and restoring the lives of those wounded by abuse, and by VCU Medical Center.

“A critical answer to ending sexual assault on college campuses is to educate students on the effects, repercussions and the lifetime of impact that sexual abuse and domestic violence has on the victims. We want to empower the students to be the change and restore the joy,” said Rosemary Trible, founder of Fear 2 Freedom.

Over the past three years, Fear 2 Freedom has provided more than 8,000 kits to those affected by sexual abuse and domestic violence.
