AAO-HNS Issues a Statement Reminding Parents and Caregivers of Choking Risks Associated with Young Children and Nuts

“We want to remind parents and caregivers that whole nuts or nut fragments pose choking risks to young children and infants,” said James C. Denneny III, MD, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Academy. “We also caution that anyone with known allergies and parents or caregivers of children with known allergies should not attempt to treat the allergies at home, but rather should seek medical care.”
